25 Grow-In-Shade Vegetables For Your Garden

We all love cooking foods with vegetables grown on our own. They’re fresh and we’re all clear about their quality and origin. To meet the need of the whole family, however, you must grow a number of crops around the year. You must get to know vegetables planted side-by-side, vegetables grown in along summer or vegetables suitable to grow in shade. It might be tough at the beginning but helps make your vegetable garden more diverse.

In this post, I’m glad to share 25 grow-in-shade vegetables for your garden. If you want to make full use of your garden space and harvest more from it, these are right up your street. Those who love gardening should also give these a go. Never let the fear of failure prevent you from trying. I grow carrots and broccoli in my garden, and they all produce well. Let’s dive right in!

#1 Arugula

Arugula grows well in shade. It’s great to grow along mint, spinach, carrots, dill. Just give a shady corner of your garden for it.

#2 Brussels Sprouts

Brussel sprouts are great to make coleslaws, steamed or fried. They also tolerates, even thrives in shade.

#3 Kale

Kale is packed with nutritional values and also easy to cook. It also makes your garden prettier.

#4 Lettuce

As lettuce a prime ingredients in salads, this vegetable deserves a shady corner in your garden.

#5 Mustard Greens

Mustard greens sauteed with crispy fried bacon is one my favorite. It’s the reason why I spend a shady spot of my garden for this vegetable.

#6 Sorrel

Another vegetable that tolerates, even thrives in shade is sorrel.

#7 Spinach

Spinach is good to eat. Like other shade-loving vegetables, it prefers cooler weather,and needs watered regularly to best grow.

#8 Swiss chard

Growing swiss chard in a shady spot in your garden surely makes it more vibrant. It’s a rich source of vitamins, especially Vitamin A and Vitamin C

#9 Broccoli

Broccoli grows best when grown at the edge of the garden, and left alone to bask in the partial sun and shade. Just make sure that you water these plants regularly and keep them away from weeds.

#10 Beets

As beets are packed with nutrition, why don’t you plant them in your garden. They’re way easier to grow than you think.
