Infinity Mirror Rooms: an Illusion of Infinity

Infinity Mirror Rooms were designed by the Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama who was born in 1929. Being a prolific artist, Yayoi still continues to work in different art branches and she is one of the best-selling female artists of all time with her distinct art and signature polka dots.

There are over twenty Infinity Rooms in different countries. The walkways in most of these rooms have mirrored tiles, together with mirrored ceilings and walls. These mirrored ceilings have hundreds of little LED lights hanging at different lengths and flickering on and off with different colors at programmed times to create seemingly endless reflections. The floors surrounding the walkways also have shallow water pools to help with the reflections. When these elements are combined, they create seemingly infinite space.

Kusama created more than twenty infinity rooms for different countries. The exhibitions have different titles. Here are some of the most impressive Infinity Mirror Rooms:
