Bear’s breeches bloom in early to mid summer. They make a beautiful shady border. They can reach up to 3 feet tall with creamy white, pink stemmed bloom spire. This perennial grows best with morning sun and consistent moisture in well drained soil.
#3 Japanese Anemone
One of my favorite tall shade perennials for late summer/fall blooms is here. Japanese anemone. It floats above the ground cover in the daintiest way as it sways in the wind. This plant blooms in pink and flower.
#4 Astible
Astilbe is perfect for shaded borders. As it comes in different varieties, be sure that you choose the right type for your garden. These perennials require a consistently moist soil and do best in a humus-rich environment. They’re also rabbit and deer resistant.
#5 Goat’s Beard
Goat’s Beard thrives in full shade and blooms in late spring or early summer. These perennial produce creamy white lacy blossoms and dark green foliage. It will take you a couple of years to get these plants going in your garden.
Once established, they’re easy to care for and covers the plant in blooms every year.
#6 Variegated Soloman’s Seal
This tall perennial makes a shade garden classic. It produces curving individual red branches from which dangle aromatic white bell-like flowers. In Fall, these flowers turn into dark blue berries, standing out against gorgeous yellow, autumn-colored leaves.

Toad lily adds the elegance to your fall garden when blooming. It has orchid-like flowers and unique leaves that are combination of white, purple, pink, yellow, maroon and blue.
