Spotify Wrapped: Taylor Swift Misses Out Top Spot Despite Eras Tour Fame as Miley Cyrus Lands Top Spot With Diss Track Anthem

Despite Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour success, Miley Cyrus claims Spotify’s top spot with a diss track anthem, Flowers.

Spotify has revealed its annual end-of-year Wrapped 2023. To those who are unknown, this feature includes a full breakdown of users’ top artists, albums, songs, podcasts, and more.

As expected, even though Taylor Swift leads as Spotify’s “Most Streamed Artist Globally,” she is not at the top of the list of the “Most Streamed Songs Globally.”

Despite Swift’s fame from the Eras Tour, she didn’t secure the top spot. Instead, Miley Cyrus claimed it with a diss track anthem, Flowers.

Miley Cyrus Claims Spotify’s Top Spot Over Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is making headlines with her pop and country music. She has received a staggering 26.1 billion streams worldwide this year with her unique singing chops.

Apple Music has also named Swift its “Artist of the Year.” For this, the sheer thanks go to none other than Eras Tour and her chart-topping songs.

Even though she is over the top with her music, the Lover singer couldn’t make it to the top of this Spotify Wrapped 2023 category. And it ultimately belongs to Miley Cyrus. The former Disney star’s song, Flowers, recorded a big 16.1 global streams.

Check out Spotify‘s “Most-Streamed Songs Globally:”

1. Flowers by Miley Cyrus

2. Kill Bill by SZA

3. As It Was by Harry Styles

4. Seven (feat. Latto) by Jung Kook

5. Ella Baila Sola by Eslabon Armado, Peso Pluma

6. Cruel Summer by Taylor Swift

7. Creepin (with The Weeknd & 21 Savage) by Metro Boomin, the Weeknd, 21 Savage

8. Calm Down (with Selena Gomez) by Rema, Selena Gomez

9. Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 by Bizarrap, Shakira

10. Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift

The 2023 Spotify Wrapped list noted the comeback of big female pop stars like Miley Cyrus, who got the song of the year with Flowers. It’s unexpected to see Tay’s name lower on the list, considering the huge success of the Eras Tour.

How Successful is Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour?

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour was an homage to her albums. It was the most expensive tour by a woman, which spanned 151 shows across five continents. It holds the record of second highest-grossing overall, with an impressive performance in just the initial 56 North American shows.

The Eras Tour was the highest-grossing concert film in domestic box office history during its opening weekend. It overtakes the previous record held by 2011’s Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, which earned $73 million.

On Monday, AMC Theatres, the film’s distributor, revealed that Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour has reached an impressive $250 million in global movie ticket sales. This places it among the top 20 highest-grossing films of 2023 and in the list of most successful concert films to date.
