“Tone deaf studio, of course they’d side with misogynists”: Amber Heard Fans Claim People Who Didn’t Watch Aquaman 2 are Sexists as Actress Breaks Silence on Movie’s Box Office

Fans accuse studios and s*xism as Amber Heard’s comments at the Aquaman 2 box office elicit strong reactions and accusations.

As the curtains rose on Aquaman 2, the film’s box office triumph sparked intense debates in the cinematic world. Amid this fervor, a notable figure, Amber Heard, steps forward, breaking her silence to illuminate the movie’s performance and its profound implications. Grateful for fan support, she adds a personal touch to the discourse.

Simultaneously, ardent advocates of the 37-year-old argue that those abstaining from Aquaman 2 are perpetuating anti-woman attitudes.

Amber Heard Addresses Aquaman 2’s Box Office And Appreciates Fans’ Unwavering Support

Amber Heard as Mera

Amber Heard just spilled the beans on how Aquaman 2 is doing at the box office. Jumping on Instagram, the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom star shared some behind-the-scenes pics and gave fans a sneak peek into her last gig as Mera.

The post is a big deal, given Heard’s claim during her 2022 trial with Johnny Depp that Warner Bros. wasn’t too keen on her for the Aquaman sequel due to her divorce drama. As per Variety, she spilled that her role got “pared down” and some action scenes got the axe.

The pictures include shots of her with her hair all red from when she was Mera. And in the caption, she cracked a joke about the sequel’s “splash” in theaters, even though it didn’t quite hit the mark Warner Bros. Discovery was hoping for.

Still, she’s thankful for the fans who’ve supported the movie and loved her take on Mera. Despite Aquaman 2 being the sequel to DC’s biggest-ever movie, no one expected it to rake in Aquaman-level cash, especially after a string of DC flops.

The critics weren’t too kind either, giving it a 39% on Rotten Tomatoes at first, and it’s dropped a bit more to 35%. But the fans? They’re showing up big time to back the film. Amber’s message resonates with the broader story of the movie.

It underlines the teamwork between artists and their audiences in the entertainment world. Fans aren’t just cheering for the film; they’re also speaking up about it and sharing thoughts on those who skipped out on Aquaman 2.

Jason Momoa in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom might not be hitting the jackpot, but it’s steadily adding dollars to its collection. Despite numerous options on the big screen, Jason Momoa’s flick remains the top pick for audiences, inching closer to surpassing The Flash in global earnings.

Currently sitting at $258.3 million worldwide, the film, produced on a $205 million budget, has successfully covered its costs. While the Aquaman 2 hype persists, fans aren’t just cheering; they’re sounding off on those who chose to skip the underwater escapade.

Social media is buzzing with opinions, from enthusiastic support to disappointment. One fan didn’t mince words, criticizing the studio, saying, “Tone deaf studio, of course, they’d side with misogynists and online trolls.” Others chimed in, adding their perspectives.

She deserved more screen time, she was perfectly cast #AmberIsOurMera

She got so much support that nobody saw the movie. k

She literally posted videos of training she did for Aquaman 2 that proves she was right. And anyone who watched the movie could tell that they severely cut meras scenes & reduced her role.

Love to see her in it 🙌

— King Champ (@natedogg6269) January 3, 2024

She was best part of the first Aquaman, it hurt the film that her role was cut down.

— LL Carpenter (@LesCarpenter1) January 4, 2024

I loved Mera in the first Aquaman movie, and I don’t care about her personal problems with Depp. I’m so happy that Mera was not excluded from the important parts in the second film. You can’t erase the wife of Aquaman and the mother of his child. You did right, Warner Bros.👍

Saw it 4 times so far! Great movie!

This dialogue highlights the dynamic connection between a movie and its audience. Fans aren’t merely spectators; they actively shape discussions about the film and its viewership, creating a multifaceted narrative.

As Aquaman 2 continues its cinematic journey, the fan discourse adds an intriguing layer to the broader conversation about its impact on the entertainment landscape.
